Pyeongchang 2018 App Is Launched

The PyeongChang 2018 Official App is now available for sports fans around the world to receive the latest Games news and information.

The App, which is available in five languages – Korean, Chinese, English, French and Japanese – will be on ‘Olympic Torch Relay Mode’ until January 28 to share the journey with you and help ‘Let Everyone Shine’ from wherever in the world they are following it from. You will be able to get all the latest news and route information, watch the relay live and also feel part of the City Celebrations.

From January 29, just twelve days before the Olympic Winter Games begins, the app will become your one-stop shop for everything PyeongChang 2018! You will be able to access live results; real-time Games news; all the competition schedule information; read about the world’s best athletes and medal contenders; experience 360° venue shots and follow the progress of your home nation on the medal table.

For those planning to be part of the action in person, you can get plenty of useful tips on transport and accommodation in the local area to make your Games experience as easy and accessible as possible.

There will also be a host of exciting activities and promotions for all sports fans to enjoy.

The official Games website ( has also been given a revamp to mark the milestone. The new look and feel of the website will bring the Games to life, giving you all the latest information on the Olympic Torch Relay, which began its 101-day journey at Incheon on November 1, and will be your go-to guide all the way through to the end of the Paralympic Winter Games.

LEE Hee-beom, President of the PyeongChang 2018 Organizing Committee explained, “PyeongChang 2018 will be the most technologically advanced Games ever, so it is very important that we have an interesting and easy-to-use app for all Olympic and Paralympic fans to help them feel connected to the Games wherever they may be.

“The smart phone is increasingly becoming the main device for people accessing the internet globally. We want to ensure that we reach as many of those sports fans and mobile phone users as possible with our new application. We hope that they will enjoy following the journey of the Torch over the next 93 days as it makes its way to the PyeongChang Olympic Plaza, and then kick into Games mode with us and share the passion and excitement that will play out on the snow and ice.”
